Apple unveils iPhone 12, 12 Mini, Pro & Max at Rs 69,990 onwards; to go on sale from October 30

Apple’s much-awaited ‘Hi, Speed’ event kicked off on Tuesday with the CEO Tim Cook delivering keynote speech and unveiling the new HomePod Mini. The all new HomePod Mini comes with an intelligent assistant and makes all homes smarter than ever before.

The smart speaker comes with the support of Siri. The HomePod Mini will be able to use your iPhone and alert there’s a new call or a message, or even an email or more. The deep integration with the iPhone makes the experience seamless.

It also comes with an Intercom feature which allows you to send a message from one HomePod to another. Intercom also works with Apple, iPad and Apple Smart Watch. The HomePod Mini is priced at $99.

Cook then unveiled the new iPhone 12 which comes with 5G connectivity. It has Super Retina XDR Display which Apple claims is one of the most durable and best screens ever.

The iPhone 12 is powered by A14 Bionic which is much faster when compared to the A13 that runs the iPhone 11 lineup. The same chip powers all the models in the new lineup and offers 60% fast graphics when compared to the previous generation chip. Apple is highlighting the ‘incredible’ gaming performance that the all new iPhone 12 can offer.

The new iPhone 12 will be available in 5 colours: Black, White, Red, Green & Blue. Designed with 5G in mind, the iPhone 12 has antennas that go around the aluminium frame.

It has a 12MP triple rear camera with better low-light performance and Night Mode. Night mode now comes in both front and rear cameras across all iPhone 12 models.

Next, Cook unveiled the iPhone 12 Mini which offers everything iPhone 12 delivers but it just has a smaller 5.7inches Super Retina XDR Display. It comes in five colours and packs the latest Bionic A15, iOS 14 and more. Apple’s new iPhones won’t ship with earbuds or chargers.

iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB models in blue, green, black, white, and red variants, starting at Rs 79,900 and Rs 69,900, respectively on and through Apple Authorised Resellers from October 30.

Apple also MagSafe for iPhone which promises to improve the wireless charging experience on the iPhone 12 but this technique works only for the all new iPhone 12.

You can use any MagSafe charger, cases or wallets that will magnetically stick at the back of the iPhone 12.

Then, Cook unveiled the new iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max. The Pro model comes with a 6.5 inches screen while the Pro Max comes with 6.7 inches Retina display. Both the iPhones are powered by A14 Bionic chipset that also powers the cheaper iPhones. The iPhone 12 Pro comes with 12MP ultrawide 12 wide angle lens 12 telephoto lens. Both these iPhones come with deep fusion camera feature.

HDR video recording is coming to iPhones for the first time ever. iPhone 12 Pro will be able to record videos in Dolby Vision HDR too and also edit in the Photos app itself.

iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB models in graphite, silver, gold, and pacific blue starting at Rs 119,900 and Rs 129,900, respectively, from October 30.
